Receive and Live the Word

How Should I Respond to What God Has Said?

Faithful study does not end with understanding. The truth of Scripture calls for faith, worship, obedience, and proclamation.

Application must grow out of the meaning of the text. Begin with what the passage reveals about God, Christ, humanity, sin, redemption, and faithful living. Then ask how that truth should reshape what you believe, love, pursue, reject, practice, and say.

Core Principle

Application flows from meaning.

Do not force the passage to answer a question it was never addressing. Let the author’s intended meaning establish the truth, and then draw responses that are faithful to that truth and consistent with the whole counsel of God.
